Sloppy Joe Joe's

Jodies Kitchen Sloppy Joe Joe's

Sloppy Joe Joe's

Name sound kind of familiar on these...Yes I am sure it does and yes they are very similar to what a lot of us here in the South eat that may come from a can.
These however are homemade without the canned stuff or even a seasoning pack.
These can be made with your choice of meat as well.

I have been making these for years for my family.Back when my 25 year old was probably around 10 he really wanted sloppy joes.I was on a budget and didn't even have the canned stuff to make them. When looking in my cabinet and refrigerator I came up with this version.I have pretty much kept it the same over the years.Sometimes I will add a little more onion or leave out the bell pepper if my little one is having them (hes not a fan of bell pepper) Funny he loves jalapenos.

The name of these are really very simple you see.My Aunt Cattail (yes a nick name as well) use to call me Joe Joe..then she started calling me doe doe..I know we have the weirdest nicknames...So I really didn't want to call them Sloppy Doe Doe's .

  1. These look delicious. Good thing you didn't have a can, so much better to make them from your own ingredients. I've never had Sloppy Joes from a can and I have to say that it honestly seems just as easy to make from scratch.

  2. Since the overly tomato thickness of Manwich bothers me I gave this recipe a try today and it's delicious. I'll be making this whenever I want sloppy joe's from now on. Thanks for the recipe.
