Sweet and Sour Pork with Broccoli

Sweet and Sour is a combo that I truly love, add a little spice to it and I love it even better.

Of course if you are not into spicy, the pepper flakes can be left out of this recipe and it's still packed full of flavor.

Making a sweet and sour dish at home really is very easy, once you get the basic recipe down you will find that you can add all types of your favorite veggies and even switch up the meat if you are not a pork lover.

My family loves broccoli so using just the broccoli in this works great for us.
If you like onion, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, carrots, then by all means go for it.They all make lovely additions to this dish. I have added almost all of those at some time or another. I would add mushrooms myself but the rest of the family just despises mushrooms.

4 tablespoons ketchup
1/2 cup white vinegar

Salt and pepper pork. Dip pieces into cornstarch, then into egg. Heat 1/4th cup oil in skillet and brown pork on all sides but not cooking all the way. Drain and place pork in greased 9x13baking dish. Pour sauce over pork coating well. Bake in oven tossing ingredients every 15 minutes (to keep good and moist),until broccoli and pork are done and sauce has thickened a little.
